Social Media Content Producer

Livity is looking for a Social Content Producer to work on Undivided. This is a creative role which involves working alongside Undivided’s Campaign Manager, Press Officer and Social Media Manager. You will be required to keep on top of daily news, particularly around Brexit, and be able to come up with and create engaging content which earns reach across Undivided’s Twitter and Facebook.

The role is fixed term until January 31st.

Key Requirements:

  • Must be under 30 years of age
  • Sharp, observational, satirical and accessible take on poitics from a young persons perspective (ie. Think ‘Have I Got News For You’ for young adults)
  • Must be curious and up-to-date with the latest trends in youth culture, and proactively take initiative on content.
  • Be familiar with, or have an interest in, politics (particularly around Brexit), i.e watching PMQs, being able to pull out key points from this
  • Be familiar with brainstorming, producing and creating newsworthy content (i,.e copy/ graphics/ memes/ tweets) at pace
  • Be able to take rapid feedback and build on it to improve reactive content in fast turnaround conditions
  • You will be expected to have experience using Adobe photoshop / video editing / gif creating  (or other software) to create visual assets on a short time frame. (Video editing experience is not essential but beneficial)
  • Be able to independently search for and use appropriate images/ visuals (using stock sites if required)
  • Work alongside Undivided’s Social Media Manager and Press Officer in an agile manner, sharing ideas and content (via Slack) for them to push out across social and news
  • Throughout January you will be expected to attend Undivided events (up to 10, with all travel reimbursed) to capture and create reactionary content around these.

About Undivided

Undivided is the UK’s first, youth-led campaign to demand the best possible Brexit deal for young people. We are nonpartisan and have a team of over 30 volunteers from across the political spectrum. We launched in October with coverage across the Today show, BBC2, Sky, ITV and 4Music and are regularly covered in mainstream media and press. We are grants funded by Paul Hamlyn Foundation.

Our goal is to reach a million 13-29 year olds by January 31st to crowdsource their demands for the Brexit negotiations, to ensure that young people have a voice in shaping post-Brexit Britain. We will curate the top ten demands and form these into policy recommendations in February, to share with Parliament in March.

Our key aim at this stage is to increase the number of 13-29 year olds who have had their say (by submitting a new demand/ voting on existing demands) at www.weareundivided.co.uk. We have a Buzzfeed partnership taking place w.c 19th December and a Vice partnership throughout January, but need to increase our own presence online and become the ‘go to’ resource repping the youth voice in all Brext conversations and news.
